Potential fall hazards alerted the owner of this property to a serious stone condition issue.
A previous flashing installation was completed using metal fasteners too close to the edge, and as a result the stone was cracked. These cracks developed into fractures and stone fragments were in danger of falling to the street and passersby below.
The entire 4th and 5th floor cornices were examined and the engineering team developed a stone grafting protocol. Straight sections as well as detailed multi-corner units were custom fabricated by Old World Stone to match the adjacent stones. Stone color, texture and profile matching were critical to the success of this project. The repairs are virtually indistinguishable from the original. |
